Working on the Chris Surtees Quiver
« on: February 26, 2011, 11:51:00 PM »
I'm working on the Chris Surtees quiver that was auctioned after Chris' passing. The winner (Allan) asked that the quiver be donated to Larry.

It's oiled cowhide with black bison overlays, and laced with black goatskin lace.

It's also the first one I've made with the bottom laced in.

I still need to add two more brass d-rings to the shoulders of the broadhead cup:

And a large brass d-ring to the top when it comes... (somebody forgot to re-order supplies):

Monday I'll glue up the spine out of the nice osage lams that Kenny donated and they'll have Texas Ebony tips. And I'll also make a matching woven strap next week,

More updates to come!

God Bless!

Pastor Bobby,
That is some fine leather work. What a fine gesture by Alan. Chris was a really special man and his Dad is a treasured friend. Thank you for the extra effort on your part.
God's Peace,
