Show your antler limb bolts
« on: February 28, 2011, 01:49:00 PM »
Hi guys,

I am thinking about ordering a 3-piece take down longbow and I think I want it with antler limb bolts.
I read that Sticshooter here does a great job on this.

Could you show me some pics, while they are on your bow?

Thanks!
It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that string! [/i]

Don't recall who made them

Stickshooter does a great job.

Good post Flying Dutchman !
I'm trying to make the same decision on my takedown !

Zmonster, them are pretty cool !

I'm a little nervous on how strong these things are ? Things would happen if that stud pulled thru while at full draw !

Once again, good post, I too will be watching !

Thanks Dan. I wouldnt worry about them pulling through. Most are made from a standard steel bolt with the head being epoxied into it. So it would work just like a standard bolt. Plus you should be using a washer. If the antler itself did fail, the bolt head and washer would still catch.

The antler is not supporting the limb; if it breaks off you put it in your pocket and continue as before.

Here are my Sticshooter limb bolts.  I asked him to make me something that would bring good mojo on an elk.  First time I went hunting with them on my bow they came through with flying colors!

I got these from the Windauers. They are real antler.I wouldn't buy the cast ones only because I like the little differences in every individual antler.

Anybody ever put 4 on a bow or would that be to much? I have been wanting to put some on one of my bows but thought that 4 would be a little to much for it and don't think 1 bolt and 1 antler bolt on a limb would look good. Just curious if there was any pics of double antler limb bolts.

I really like this, it gives a beautyful look
An arrow can only be shot by pulling it backward. So when life is dragging you back with difficulties, it means that it's going to launch you into something great.

Hey guys, I know your talking antler limb bolts, please forgive me for wanting to share with you some brass I engraved. I'm working on a special idea for a set that will add a little more mass weight and surface area for more engraving. I think they will look real cool.
