Need some counsel on Delorme PN-40 GPS unit

I'm a computer dummy- but I must get this figured out for my hog hunting guys.
I need to mark points of interest and overlay them and our roads onto aerials and quads, then print them out to give to my hunters at hog heaven.
I've worked on it for a week, and can't get anything more than rudimentary stuff figured out.
HELP!

Recieved the PN-60 for christmas but have not spent enough time with it to be able to help you out.

Have you tried Google Earth, free and you can go to just about anyplace you want. You can mark spots of intrest and then print out. I use it all the time.

Ray,
I don’t have that particular unit, but I’m somewhat GPS savvy. As far as loading them on a computer for printing, I can’t help you without seeing it.
Have you tried Google earth? You can get satellite photos of your area, mark spots and print. It’s a free download, and pretty user friendly.

Ray,
The PN-40 (combined with the Topo software) is a really nice rig for doing what you mention (custom maps-printed or in the unit). Problem is those units and the Topo software can be a booger to learn.
I have a PN-20 and really like it. My only dislike is the PN's don't have the great battery life of Garmins. But no other system out there can do mapping like these Delormes can....once you learn it.
I'd advise you go to the PN-40 Wiki and search the topics:
http://delormepn40.wikispaces.com/
If you don't find an answer there go to Delorme's forums
http://forum.delorme.com/
At Delorme's forums they also have specific PN-30/40 and Topo (8 or 9) forums.
Also, if your unit was just purchased new and it came with and older version of Topo 8 you can call Delorme and get a free newer version (Topo 9) for only the cost of shipping. I'd recommend that and update to the latest firmware.

Forgot about this little video presentation link...
http://delormepn40.wikispaces.com/Map+Layering
It's kind of long, but it shows some how-to's on cutting/managing maps.
