Sam,

Young men were often dressed that way in Victorian era. I have photos of my grandfather who was very Hemingway-esque as an adult, wearing just such an outfit.

Wow,Thank god,the archers typical dress code has changed over the years...would want to have to hunt deer dressed like that...LOL...
