Liberty Bows back
« on: March 04, 2011, 11:48:00 AM »
I talked to Allen @ Liberty this morning about taking some #'s off and refinishing my English. He is back up and running with orders for 4 bows so now's the time if you've been waiting for this GOOD news. Liberty longbows are back!

I ordered the new Edge LB and sent in my payment a couple of days ago. I had a Contender and it was my favorite LB, however, I sold it because I changed to shooting LH (dominant eye).  I was waiting for Mr Boice to start making bows again.  I ordered the Edge LB with Bocote handle and all Yew limbs.  Allen stated the wait is 5-6 weeks for now.  I cannot wait.  I will not have it in time for turkeys but will have it for Elk and deer.  Ken

Allen has also added a model called the "Edge" which is a more radical R/D type with deep locator grip.  Here is a pic of the "Edge" next to his straight limbed "English".

I have a "Contender" that is being made,   be looking for a thorough photo review soon.

Lamey,

That is the picture that influenced me to order the Edge.  Thanks.  Ken

The Edge is a good looking hybrid longbow. I wonder what lengths it comes in?

Guys:I'm looking at Allen"s Contender. The last year I dumped all my "D" bows which have been my favorite design for years. I developed a cyst on my wrist and it's my opinion that handshock has done me no favors. Please tell me about Allen's Contender. He said that he designs the shock out with a longer riser. Please add any comments. Thanks.

I had a Contender once and I noticed NO handshock. However, with your condition you may notice something I may not.

The Contender I had was second to none as far as quality, workmanship, and just plain fun!

Maxplan, I'd agree with the longer riser, I've had an English for about a month or so, LOVE IT !! Smooth, Quiet, Quick, Dont notice the "shock" everyone talks about, this is my Favorite so far ... Mine is Bacote Riser, All Boo limbs, Tiger Myrtle Veneers Back & Belly ... SWEET !!!!!!!!

First, Allen is a man of integrity. He has a deep religious feeling and will not wrong another. What he promises is what you'll get on time.
I have an English and a Chief. Both are works of art and performance plus bows. The Chief is not shocky and a joy to shoot for a 40 tgt 3D course. You can't go wrong as Allen will make it right. I was shooting ground squirrels next to my office. A guy was watching and I missed at 40 yds. He laughed until he stuck only his head out of the hole. Chief put a shaft thru his head. Yeah they perform!!!
