I have not had a chance to try out a treeshark on a deer yet but I shot a turkey with one this spring and was amazed by the entrance hole. I could fit four fingers in it.   Although I have been a die hard woodsman fan since they came out I will be trying the treeshark on deer this season.

Charlie,

Why do you put the razors on??? Is the purpose to get a wider cutting surface???

I only did that on a half dozen big game kills. I wanted to see what Jack Howard was talking about as regards the efficiency of the razor blades and killing game.

Jack claimed that no animal shot in the body cavity with a razor equipped broadhead would be lost and claimed to have never lost an animal he shot in a long career of bowhunting.

I only had short and profuse blood trails but was impressed by the difference in nature/consistency of the blood produced by lung hits.
In the second picture the bubbly blood was standing a good 6" high above the wound when I first approached the animal... I'd never seen that before.

Thanks for the explanation, just couldn’t figure out why the regular blades weren’t enough unless you needed aw wider cutting surface.

Here is one took a pic of a couple weeks ago. This was a GK Silverflame XL on a little piggy.

This is the entrance hole:

This is the entrance hole on the bottom of the pic just behind the right front leg and the exit hole on the top just in front of the left front leg (along with collateral damage to the left front leg):

I love my Silverflam XL's!

My left thigh a couple years ago, Zwickey Eskimo went in about 1/2" past the back of the head.

Dave

I've come to believe that the keys to shooting well for me are good form, trusting the bow to do all the work, and having the confidence in the bow and myself to remain motionless and relaxed at release until the arrow hits the mark.

Woodsman entry:

Zwickey Delta

Another Delta, severed the leg/thigh joint, cut the breastbone in half, stopped in off side wing. Oh, and the turkey died!

I like Deltas!

Gotta love those VPA 3 blades I have been using the 1 1/8" 175 grain exclusively for two years now and have never considered another broadhead.
