The tree shark is the only head I will ever shoot at a deer, bear, and hogs for the rest of my life.  All others need not apply.

The lower hole is on a buck I shot last week, and was made by  Magnus Stinger 2 blade (the upper hole was made by another hunter the day before I shot this buck, and I had no clue he was even injured when I shot him):

I'm curious to know how that other guy didn't kill that deer....was there not much penetration? Expandable broadhead maybe?

As am I. Did that other hole enter the body cavity, or was it just a glancing hit perhaps from jumping the string and a high angle?

Because if it went in or out at that height that is way too high for a lung to be harmed. Even if thats the entry hole and it angle down and forward a one lung hit deer can make it a long while or live on. If it hit that high and angled backward still not much in the way to kill it soon or ever.

Yea that deer was shot thru the straps from what I see.Two seasons ago I shot one high thru the backstraps,it was just a bad shot on my part. The good part was my brother killed that same doe two weeks later on another stand about 1/2 mile from where I shot her.The high wound was already healing.

I killed one once that had a bullet in his back around the same place. The bullet wound was healed, but for the life of me I can't figure out how it didn't break it's back. They are resilient creatures.

If you ever look at a cut out of a whitetail the spine drops way low. That shot is over the spine actually.
When you see guys shoot deer in that kinda high shoulder shot n they drop in there tracks. It's because they hit the spine. Most hunters don't realize how low the spine is above the lungs and shoulders..

I used Chris Spikes' tutorial to sharpen my Simmons. It's by far the best method I've found.

Simmons Interceptor Original 190

You can't really see exit wound, but you can tell by the amount of blood that it is quite devastating.  First blood was immediate and he made it about 50 yards.

This is the best one I have gotten a pic of lately! This is from a 1 1/8" wide German Kinetic head.
