Here ya go.  Can't say it was waaaay back in the wilderness.  Shot this photo at dusk of some mature rams not too far off I-70 about an hour west of Denver.  Battery was dying or would have had more!  Steve

These are some bighorns from the beautiful Black Hills of SD.

To me, the ultimate challenge in bowhunting is not how far away you can succesfully make a killing shot but rather how close you can get to the animal before shooting.

Here is a North Dakotan sheep.

Here are a couple Montana rams.

The broadhead used, regardless of how sharp, is nowhere as important as being able to place it in the correct spot.

Seth
Those are burr/seeds from a weed here in Montana, I am not exactly sure what type but do know they are on the noxious weed list.  They are one of the reasons I do not wear fleece or cheap wool when hunting.

Walt, That's the sheriffs girl. How did you get that pic?

That would be one heck of a hunt to go after one those bighorns. Guess I will have to add that to my hunting wish list.

I bet not those things look like they are latched in pretty good. Guess if I ever get lucky enough to draw any tags (not counting on it) up there I better keep no fleece or cheap wool in mind..Its good to see that Montana isnt perfect though..Id say its still pretty close.

Here's some Oregon bighorn's. These are of the California Bighorn subspecie.

This ram was rubbing his butt on a big rock and obviously enjoying it!

If I could ever learn how to scan my old style sheep photos and THEN LEARN HOW TO POST THEM, I could send in some dandies.

Don't believe any photos that someone named Bob McMann posts of me with a sheep.  It's trick photography...honest!

Walt, Walt, Walt.....you must be excused.  Actually we have the Californa Big Horns I believe that were transplanted in our National Grasslands.  They were let loose in and around the Theodore Roosevelt National Parks, (North and South Units)  I have come across them on a number of occasions, while bowhunting mule deer in the Natl' Grasslands. No pictures though   :(

On the lighter side, the sheep in montana don't have to dress up cause all the ranchers have velcro gloves  :)  j/k
