Older Morrison 66" longbows
«
on:

Lately I've been really getting into shooting the longer bows. I've been shooting "D" and classic looking longbows and really like them. I've always loved Bob's bows and recently found out he used to make a 66" classic looking longbow. Just curious if anyone has any pics and some specs on them. Any info on these bows would be appreciated. Thanks.

Bob is a great guy. Contact him personally. Bet he would provide all info needed if asked. You will occasionally see him on this site. Good luck.

I just shot him an email Bill. He's probably cursing me as we speak for taking him back to the past. Him and Barb are good people. Owned several of his bows, and still do. Just wanted to see some pics of his bows from the past if anyone has one. Doesn't appear to be too many out there or people are hanging onto them.

Adam, I will try my hand at posting some pics when my 66" Morrison gets here...I think I got it just in time!
Leatherneck...I will let you know how she handles. Adam put a new finish on her and a new string. I am expecting love at first sight.

It got here today...here is what she did at 20 yards...I don't think I'll adjust the sights. lol
She shoots like she's 5-7 pounds lighter/quiet/and so smooth.
Thanks Adam. You are a blessing.

That looks really sweet! Thanks raghorns for the pic. What cores was Bob using back then? I better go to the classifieds and put up a post.

Leatherneck, here she is unstrung...It is the nicest bow to shoot that I have ever handled.
I shot it for 3 hours today...had an appointment or I would probably still be there.
Not sure on the cores...maybe Adam would know if he checks this thread again.
Hope you're able to find one...I don't think you will be disappointed.

I've contacted Bob but I think he's out of town right now. Waiting on his reply. Hoping maybe he has one collecting dust that he would like to get rid of.

good looking bow, and my favourite style, that very mild r/d that braces a true "D".

WOW, that is an early one.... I didn't think there was a market for them anymore. Might have to build a few. Mike and anybody interested call me Monday, I see just how much interest there is.

Bob, can you tell us what the 66 inchers were called and when they were built.
Adam, it really is your fault...plus I couldn't keep quiet about how sweet they are.
Mike, you must gitcha one...you won't be sorry.
