I'm just glad I read the whole thread. My jaw dropped when I seen the first pic. Glad it's ok.
This must be some sort of incurable desease... I have a new bow but still scan the classifieds daily, drooling over bows and quivers and I almost hurled when I saw this damaged container. Any suggestions for therapy?   :help:

This is why I use irrigation tubing for shipping bows. That was an accident waiting to happen. Sure glad the mighty Centaur held up to an assault!
So.....how does it shoot?

You are one lucky guy. I can't believe that the limb wasn't broken looking at the angle of the bend in the cardboard tube. Makes you wonder what in the heck fell on it to do that kind of damage. I would have been sick too just looking at it. I laughed at your explanation of how you handled it though, that was great!

Margly,

Next time use some pvc pipe brother.  Those darn paper tubes can't seem to survive crossing the pond.

UPS totally destroyed the end 6" of a heavy PVC tube I shipped a bow in and knocked a big hole i n the other end--no excuse for that whatsoever.  I WILL NOT SHIP ANYTHING WITH ANYBODY EXCEPT THE USPS!

This is how they come from the Maker. They also say, "GLASS." I think a lot of mail handlers just assume that it is a box of fluorescent tubes.   :D   :
