I've been using the one I got from the Wensels with the wire in the short brim. They autographed it too which adds to the mojo.

You can get a U.S. military "jeep cap" that is olive green and has a brim of about 1 1/2 inches and keeps your head warm too..you can also fold up the edges in hot weather...here is the link...in Canada where I got mine....I am sure you can get ttehm at military surplus stores...

I turn my ball caps backwards. I bought a wool outback type hat last year at the K-ZOO show. I roll up and pin the front corner so the string will clear, same as Fred Asbell wears his hats.

I use a camouflage Gortex Bonnie hat made by OC Gear. It has an elastic pull cord, adjustable hat band for the real windy ridges and a stampede string to keep it around your neck, if it does blow off of your head. That stampede string saved it for me one cold day crossing the river in my boat. Closest thing to our old Army issued boonie hats from the VN era. I picked mine up at Sportsman's Warehouse for about $20.00 Probably my favorite piece of hunting clothing....next to my boots!

I use the Boonie but I am on the lookout for something like the first hat posted.  Boonie works great I just want more of a cap.

I use a Wool Fred Bear Hat that 3 Rivers sells, the brim is perfect for getting out of the way of the string.

Hunting I wear my Boonie Hat that the brim is so flexible that wind practically moves it out of the way.
