Full length arrow dip project on the cheap. HELP
« on: March 10, 2011, 03:23:00 PM »
I picked up some oh so hard to find, Easton 1920 shafts for some "look at that weirdo setup" arrows for hunting.

These are OLD, picture the first 24s-rxt arrows you ever saw......same thing. Silver.

Wanna take em back to that time when Fred was walking about with full length white arrows and whatever for fletching.....just cause. No real other reason. Probably do the same to half dozen woodies too.

ISSUE is that for less than a dozen arrows, buying the paint and finish dip from Bohning makes it ......rediculous, cost wise.

Help for Krylon or whatever paint and cover finish that duco  or fletch-tite will STICK too, please?

Yeah, know I'm weird, goes without saying.

Looked around on the web, some info but asking for you pros to help me out if you would.

God Bless
Steve

Take a look at rustoleum appliance epoxy paint. It has a finish like your oven top does and comes in a spray can.

I use rustoleum and have good results.  I've always used a primer for the first coat.  I assume it helps.  I know others have skipped this step. For a 32" 2219 it adds about 25gr.

Give your paint a couple days to cure before fletching.  I use super glue gel.
