Howard Hill Longbowmen Site Is No More
« on: March 13, 2011, 04:05:00 PM »
As many know, I have for some years maintained the Howard Hill Longbowmen web site and email group.

Unfortunately, I have had to discontinue the site and email list.  I couldn't keep up with the work and expense of the various sites I run and had to cut back. If you had the site bookmarked, I'm sorry, but it isn't there any more.   The guys replaced the email list with a new Yahoo called Classic Longbowmen.  They can be found in Yahoo Groups.

The site contained a great deal of good Hill information.    That material will not be lost.  It is saved and I will be cleaning it up and either adding it as a section in my personal archery site or offering it as a PDF file.

Unfortunately, that will be a little ways off though, as I had a computer crash and am having to restructure and learn new web programming and technology.  My Dreamweaver web handling program was ten years old.  I've ordered a new version and I'm sure I'll be faced with many changes I'll have to learn before I'm back up to speed.

Captain, Could you just keep the site "as is" with the pages and just discontinue the e-mail group? ...sorry to see it go

Dick, Thank you for the wonderful website while it was up. I, like many others, will be glad to see when some of it will be on your site or in PDF. Best of luck with the switch over.

Dick -

Thanks for all that you have done to promote our great Hill bows and keep the legend of Howard Hill alive on our PC, in our hearts and on our minds. Your site a had a vast array of information and I for one am truly sorry that it had to go by the way side. Hope the information will be available soon as I referred to it many times. Thanks again,    :wavey:

Dick - Thanks for all your work on that site.  I spent a lot of time there looking at all the examples of Hill bows whenever I was in the planning stages of my next bow build.

Thanks,

John
