Can you ID this skull?
« on: March 14, 2011, 07:48:00 PM »
I found this while Rabbit hunting with a buddy of mine Bowspirit last fall.  I'm quite sure I know what it is, Figured I would share and allow some guesses.

Funny the only rabbit we saw was sitting at our feet while we were taking a break in open woods. We had some stump shooting fun though.

Yeah, teeth are too thick to be a small cat.

from the size of the choppers I'd guess a wolverine.  It's a powerful built skull, anyway. I wouldn't want it to grab the back of my neck.

Here I thought it was a cheetah!

I guess this one was too easy.   :readit:

.  In a few days we were supposed to head to Rays. Bowspirit was dropping off his belongings headed south in Bear Misser's van.

We got in a few hours of stumping and rabbit hunting.

Not much story Izzy, I came busting out of some brush late December There it was laying on the ground on its side.

Good guess on the wolverine but I have a couple. The eye sockets are too big and the skull is too round.  Those BIG thick teeth are throwing me off. Even a young cougar would have thinner teeth.  If it is a bobcat, he was king.

I still say the teeth are way to big for a bobcat, they look bigger than the 2 bear skulls I have in my room

With Bowspirits name mentioned I might have guessed domestic house cat. He does have a fondness for hunting less than wild beasts. Any white hairs found close by the skull? How bout a pink collar and bell?   :p
