Spring is comin
« on: March 18, 2011, 02:52:00 PM »
And I guess that's why I see so many of you out stumpin! I have been lovin" all the stump threads lately. So, I just had to get out too. It was a long winter, and I finally get a chance to roll out into the woods! My soon to be 3 year old enjoyed the air and liked to help retrieve the arrows.

We hiked around and found plenty to shoot at, lots of dead wood around.

I think Greta was sneaking out the camera.

We made plenty of shots. Even took a few at a little fury fella in the stone row... FInally broke my first AD Hammer Head after 3 years of shooting them.

Had plenty of arrows along, so kept the shooting going.

Took a little rest for some water and a snack. It got up to 71 degrees.

Got a small reminder of who has been around on the property.

Then we packed it up and headed for home. Have to pick up Greta's sister at school.

Wow.  I can tell you're on the Sunny side of the Lehigh Tunnel.  We're still in winter mode here with snow on the north side of hills.

It's 75 degrees down here in the Lehigh Valley! (Eastern PA)  I'm heading out right now to take my son and his friend into the woods for some stumpin'!      :D

I think many of us are ready for some stump'in and 3Ds and turkeys...then fall gets closer and we turn into the stealthy predator again...each new season has it's unique joys.

Thanks for the nice pics.

Just spoiled here in NE FLA.  We can stump year round; of course we have tiny, midget sized deer.  Really don't know if that's a good trade-off.  But I am glad that some of my Northern Bretheren are able take advantage of the change of seasons.

Stumpkiller, I was an hour north of my place.      OPRick, I stump all year, just didn't have much time during the winter. Only got out like once or twice.

Few things as enjoyable as stumping in nice weather. Even more fun when you have a good friend with you like you did today. What a cutie!

Winter don't stop me!  Stumps aren't migratory and they don't hibernate.

In fact, I do more weekend stumping in the winter than after the mosquitoes, deer flies, horse flies, black flies and other flies come out.

But it is nice to come home after work and lob a few at the 3-D deer out in the back yard.  Soon.  Soon.

In fact, I'm hoping to hang them out tomorrow or Sunday if the rain holds off.
