Gravotta brothers bows
« on: March 18, 2011, 10:55:00 PM »
I just had a friend ask me about these and if I knew anything about them.  Can you all help me out?

I have never heard of them.

Thanks,
Patrick

They came out of New Jersey (and/or Connecticut), as I recall - real pretty bows (especially the youth bows, as they were slimmer/stream lined) and all held up well. They named their models after flying critters, i.e. Hawk, Mosquito, etc. (those are two I remember well). I used to buy and sell them second-hand, as they moved well (when I was working part time in a archery pro shop). Hope this helps.

Cravatta Brothers were bowyers in McKeesport, PA. in the '50s. If you will look above the bow weight written on your bow, you will find three numbers, like 657. This indicates the date of manufacture, in this case June of '57.

Hope that helps.

Good shooting fun bows, BTW.
