Met Barry W yesterday
« on: March 19, 2011, 05:18:00 PM »
I was please to see brothers Wensel at the Ohio Deer an Turkey Expo in Columbus.
I stopped and talked to Barry for a while.
This was the first time I met him and I was like a giddy school girl metting Justin Bieber.
Barry was as nice and as funny as I would have expected.
Ive always wanted to meet him as he's impressed the heck out of me with his shooting skills on moving targets.
I picked up a copy of the EE Primal Dreams II
Can wait to watch it.
God bless him and I hope his arm heals quickly.

He would have given it to you for free if you had brought him a doughnut pillow.   :D

Killdeer (I'd like to meet him too!)
Long, long afterward, in an oak I found the arrow, still unbroke;
And the song, from beginning to end, I found again in the heart of a friend.

I missed them at the show yesterday, wish I would have seen them.  Regardless, it was a great show...some real monsters on the wall from all over Ohio.

Anyone ever hear the story of the twins throwing a black bear carcass off of a bridge that was under construction? I laughed my butt off when they told that one at a bowhunters rendezvous here in Michigan back in the early 90's.

Just saw this as I've not been on TG for awhile because of our schedule. Thanks to all for the kind words. I really enjoyed the Ohio gig although I was covering up some discomfort. I had a lot of hands to shake as a temporary lefty. I think Mike and Gene got sick of hearing me having to tell the story of my pig fight and resulting bum arm. It's not healing as quickly as I was hoping for (age??), although today was the best day since it happened almost two weeks ago. We'll be at the IL Deer Classic in Peoria this weekend; New York Bowhunters Assn. banquet in Syracuse the next week and the P&Y 50th Anniv. gathering in Rochester, MN the next. If anyone's in the neighborhood stop by and hear "the rest of the story". But no macho handshakes please. Ha. Thanks. BW
