I'm looking to set up a new rig and wondering about ILF limbs and poundage. I want to go with a DAS Kinetic 21" riser and have a finished product of 60" - 64" and around 50# draw. I'll be buying some used parts, and not sure what limbs to buy. Looks like they come in long, medium, and short, so my question is... Will a 50# set of limbs always be 50#, or will the draw weight change if I change riser length? If it changes, will it be more dramatic with a longer limb?  Thanks for any help you can offer.

ILF limbs are rated by the mfr for a given weight on a given riser.

Suppose you were to buy a set of ILF Hoyt limbs that are rated on a 23 inch riser at 50 pounds.

On your 21 inch riser the Hoyt 50# limbs would be rated at 52#.

The calc is (mfr riser length (23 inches) - the shorter riser legth (21 inches) = 2+).

Or (23-21=+2).

The choice of limb length of short, medium or long will not matter in terms of weight rating.

The longer limbs on any bow are generally smoother and have most cast.

Hope this helps.
