It's a Father's Day Surprise! Shhhhhhhhh...
« on: June 16, 2007, 10:48:00 PM »
And I thought it would be nice to give all our friends on Trad Gang a first peak at Dad's very special Father's Day gift.  I only hope he's not lurking around here this evening, cause I'm about to let the cat outta the bag!

I had to beg, threaten, sweet-talk and cajole Mike and Jason into designing and producing this exquisite  one-of-a-kind Helle knife kit to match Dad's new Bushwacker!

It features the Helle Harding blade and a Cocobola and Osage handle.  In the end the handle ended up costing more than the knife, but I think it's well worth it!  What do you all think?

I think you post pictures of the finished knife! What a great gift! That handle is going to be very pretty and he will be proud to own it.

My new Bushwacker is a sister-bow to Dad's, his features Coco and Osage, mine has Coco and Yew.  So naturally I had Mike make sister handle blanks as well (this is getting expensive $$$) and I've already started shooting the pictures for a build-a-long on mine.  That will be coming up as soon as I can get some more time and elbow grease into this project!
