A Great Trade!!!
« on: March 27, 2011, 03:41:00 PM »
Some time back Bondo posted a picture of some heads that he had knapped.  Well, it has been a desire for a long time to take an animal with a stone point.  The ultimate would be to do it with a head that I knapped, but after trying some, it is looking like it will take years to get one head, let alone enough to hunt with.
So realizing this, I sent a PM to Bondo, nothing to loose.  Through the course of our conversations, it was decided that we would could do some tradin'!!!  I won't go into the details as to what Bondo got, but this what arrived in the mail yesterday!!!

The points are matched to + or - 5 grains, and are absolutely awesome!!!!  The bamboo arrows were a bonus and are spined close to the weight of the self bow that I will be shooting this fall, for whitetails!!!
Besides all this, a great friendship was formed!
Thanks David!!!  And thanks to those who pour their time into making this the greatest of all bowhunting sites!!!

While I don't presently have a way to post pics of what I received in trade, lets just say that I feel like I came out WAY AHEAD on this deal. Tim does excellent work with extreme quality craftsmanship. I hope do do business with him again in the near future.
Thanks Tim.

Wow, those are unbelievable.  I cant imagine what you got back Bondo that outdid these heads but I know Tim does some amazing stuff.
This kind of gets my juices flowing to go a little more primitive.  Awesome.

There's not many things cooler than a knapped stone head, except maybe a set of matching knapped stone heads.  Beautiful work.

Nice work! I love it when no money changes hands, each provides a service that they do well.
And, each thinks they came out on top!
That's a great trade alright.

Very cool Tim, what are the lengths and weights of those heads?  Been wanting to take a deer with a primitive arrow as well.  Maybe this fall will be the year.

The heads are right around 125 grains, plus or minus 5 grains.
I am hoping that this year, I will get to see blood on a stone other than one just laying on  the ground!
Regardless, of how it comes out, there will be stories!!!
