I just received a comment from the bowyer himself on the veneers he ripped from the cocobolo plank I had the priviledge to choose within his enormous collection of exotics:

The eagle has landed...
The bow is very different from what I was expecting.
I was picturing basically the same bow than I have, but in 2 pieces.
I love the subtile added mass in the handle, and the cocobolo looks so rich and dark..my wife said: "What a dark bow, it looks so powerful" and that sums it up!
I instantly felt connected to this bow, and that goes far beyond the tool: Friendship, the spirit of the hunt, all possible future ...A stout bow for adventure!

I won't be able to shoot it before Saturday, and will do the pictures in the wild: BigJim's work deserves better than a quick snap in the house.

Thank you Big Jim for your work and an incredible value
