question on string length

will a 54"dacron string work for a 56" recurve? thanks.

If it's an AMO 56" bow, get an AMO 56" string, which will be 53" loop to loop.

That works, but if it's not AMO, then a 52" string.

AMO is measured under tension, so to get a 53" string with dacron, you need to have it 3/4 to 1" shorter unbraced.  So what Dave and Night Wing said are virtually the same thing.
