Proud Grandpa...
« on: April 01, 2011, 02:18:00 PM »
My ten year old granddaughter asked her mother last night if she could skip tennis this summer so she could work on her archery.. She's been shooting since she was six... Saturday we head to a Bowyer so she can get a longbow of her own..

Can you say proud grandpa....  :archer:

Congrats, what a feeling it is to pass it along to the future.

Must feel great, still looking forward to that day. But mine are shooting, so cross the fingers
Bowhunting is a passion, not an obsession. Its just hard for my wife to tell the difference sometimes.

Yes that is great.  So many things you can teach them during shooting besides marksmanship and killing.

That is a girl with her priorities straight.
The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.

Wow, that is Quality TYME!  :bigsmyl:    :archer2:
Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing. TGMM ♥

Grandchildren are one of God's greatest gifts.
Any healthy, outdoor activities you can share with them will surely enrich them (and you!)

Javi, I know the feeling friend.  When my two grand childern come over, first, can we shoot the bow and arrow, always, then ride the atv.  Sure makes me happy, they even want to go hunting with me this season.  They may be a little young 6 and 4 1/2 but what the hay if they want to go, then they go.

An arrow can only be shot by pulling it backward. So when life is dragging you back with difficulties, it means that it's going to launch you into something great.

My oldest daughetr shot alot with me when she was growing up and went on to win an IBO championship(with a compound). Those were great memories. My son who just turned 18 shoots and hunts with me all the time. Now my daughter is about to have a child any day. My first grandson. How long do you think I should wait to have his first bow made?
