Like many here, I have been so fortunate to be able to learn so much from reading Fred's books and articles.
His knowledge & experience delivered in his unique laid-back style of writing is something that I always look forward to, be it something new or a re-read.

AWESOME!Great Guy.I met FRED back in early 80s and he sold me a BIGHORN,beautiful shooting bow,and his book helped me immensely over the years of hunting,CONGRATULATIONS Fred. (Skinner,Creekside gun shop ,Holcomb,ny.)

Congratulations!
Never met the man, but he writes very well.  I especially enjoyed the articles he wrote about his sheep hunt and his disaster of a guided elk hunt. I think they were both in his books.
