Braveheart Carbon Hunter / CE Predator II

I have been talking with Tim about Braveheart Carbon Hunter/CE Predator II, has anybody used them? If you have would you buy them again?

I shoot the CE Predator II's and would recommend them and plan on purchasing more in the future.  I do foot both ends, nock end 1/2" and point end 1 1/2" or so.  Really toughens them up.

What do you use to foot them? Do you happen to have any pictures?

I just ordered my 5th dozen. Haven't killed any game with them but they tune easily and shoot very accurately. Haven't broken any but lost a few in the snow.  Bob

Yup, lefty is right foot them with aluminum arrow stock. They are not as durable as the Heritage and other CE shafts but for the price a nice shaft. I believe a 2117 or 2216 works but not sure on the predators a 100%. Maybe Lefty will chime back in!! Shawn

How do you foot them?  Any pics?  I shoot woodies but I'm thinking about these too.

Here are a couple pictures.  Basically just fit an aluminum shaft piece over the outside of the carbon shaft.  The fit should be very snug and I taper the inside and outside of both ends of the footing.  Inside to help slide onto the shaft without raising a splinter and the outside to make a smooth transition between footing and shaft.  This helps some for penetration, but most noticeable when removing from targets,especially bag targets.  When you get them fitted and tapered, just glue into place.

How does footing them effect how you set up your arrows? Do you put the footing on every-time that you cut yours arrows when you are trying to get them set up?

I foot the front end and cut of the nock end as I tune.  The little 1/2" of nock end footing weight just a few grains and doesn't add enough to effect tune.

I always slide the footing on before installing the insert, check fit before gluing inserts than glue in insert slather a little epoxy on end of shaft slide footing down turn it on shaft to make sure it is coated and than let dry. It is best if you get the footing down over the insert but sometimes depending on different ones I have done, you have to do like above and put right at the edge of the insert. If you can slide it over the insert and even it helps even more as it stops the insert from being shoved into the shaft, works great either way. Shawn
