One Proud Daddy
« on: April 07, 2011, 08:17:00 PM »
My (almost 4yo)son has finally started to show an interest in shooting and the woods in the last few weeks. Here are a couple of his firsts.

We went walking through the woods at the end of our cul-de-sac and there was quite a bit of deer and buck sign. This was the first rub he found on his own without me pointing it out

Last weekend was his first 3D carrying his littl Samick Angel bow (unfortunately he seems to have inherited my eye-hand coordination...  "[dntthnk]"  )

Don't worry David. Your new bow coming for your B-Day will have better aim...lol

The quest to improve is so focused on a few design aspects & compensating for hunter ineptness as to actually have reduced a bow & arrow’s effectiveness. Nothing better demonstrates this than mech. BHs & speed fixated designs

The best part was when we got home from the 3-d shoot. The whole hour long ride home he was quiet. In fact i thought he might have fallen asleep a few times.

When I parked in the driveway and shut off the engine I hear from the back seat "That was awesome!"  :bigsmyl:

I know the feeling, my boy has really gotten more involved on his own to the whole shooting his bow thing. He used to like taking his bow but didn't care if he shot or just help pull arrows, now he wants to compete a little now and its fun to watch him. Congrats and make sure to keep it fun for him!!

Way to get him involved! He'll remember these days for the rest of his life as will you. Thanks for sharing!

He was funny, he refused to shoot the whitetail deer. Only wanted to shoot the 'big' hogs, no javies they were too cute

Some of the best times I've had with my 6 year old has been in the woods.  He loves bows even better than guns.

Chop your boy shoots well, just have him aim a little more left. Just like I do most of the time. Great looking boy, enjoy his time shooting, they are so much fun.

Tony,

Finally, get that boy some non urban training!

Neat to see that big grin on his chin.

If you only knew how many times he's "called" me and never said anything...least I expect it was him playing with your phone and somehow, punched my number cause it comes up your phone and I hear all this racket, but I can't get him to talk to me!   :biglaugh:

That is too funny about him only being selective on "critters."  :)
The words "Child" and "terminal illness" should never share the same sentence! Those who care-do, others question!
