Man do I love Osage
« on: April 08, 2011, 08:14:00 AM »
Tracey just finished another Osage bow and as I was loading the pictures on the computer and seeing all of our osage creations, I realized just how much I love the looks of that wood in a bow.

Here is a Slide show of some of them I know there were more but could not find them this morning

There is something about working with the native woods that is very Gratifing. Besided it keeps all the money here in the U.S. rather than sending money overseas for the exoctics

I wish these guys in Missouri could see some of those beautiful St. Joe River bows...maybe they would quit using that wonderful wood for corner posts or burning it in fireplaces.

I guess there's enough to go around. I just can't look at an osage without seeing bows.

I have looked a a "bunch" of Osage trees and I can tell you that there isn't a bow in every one of them.(self bows only speaking)

Will say that if it'll make a good corner post there's a good chance that there are one or more bows in it.

Again,I am just talking self bows here.

I'm almost positive that if you start cutting the wood up into boards and lams there are many more.

My opinion for what it's worth.

God bless,Mudd
