You mean there's any other wood to make a bow outy of?  I was told that you only make a good bow out of Osage!  Thats what my mentors keep telling me, and I just keep beliving 'em.  I even won two custom bows and guess what, they're osage too!  Gotta love that Yeller wood.
Hey doc, thats what I use for knife handles, Too.

I have always been told that Osage (especially in the limbs) equals more hand shock.  Is that a fact or is it a myth?  I love the look of Osage but have never gotten one because of this perception.  A little guidance would certainly be appreciated.

I just picked up three Great Northern Critter Gitters, two were Osage. One is still bright orange, the other has mellowed to a dark orange. Love Osage !!! Looks great, shoots better.

Osage is my favorite! I'm a sucker for selfbows made out of a horseapple tree! Those knives are sweet.

I just found this guy up in Kansas.
I was having a horrible time trying to find Osage to make axe a handle. I stumbled onto this guy. From what he tells me he has miles of this stuff. He is a small family sawmill and is priced well. I bought a rough cut board 2x10x9' for a $200.. I can get a couple of axe handles, 2 bow staves and a bunch of spare out of the piece of wood. He even sent me pictures of the piece of wood before I bought it.
