Sometimes last minute hunts work out!! My son new I had been watching a bunch of birds right up the street but have been under the weather for a while now and just hadn't had the energy to get out and set up a blind.

He called and said he had the blind all set up and wanted me to go hunting with him tonight. Well twist my arm that sounds like some fun!! I had been shooting good the last couple of weeks with the awesome bow Mr. Lamb built me last fall hoping to get out there one of these days.  :archer2:

The only problem was he set up one of are smaller blinds that is impossible to shoot out of with the 68" bow. So I got out my Mohawk and took a few shoots as soon as I got home from work and dang I forgot how well I can shoot that bow.

Some of the turkeys were in the field when we got there right by the blind so we tried sneaking in but you know how that went with there great eyes. We threw the decoys up as quick as we could climbed in and it didn't take long and we had birds and a couple deer coming out already. A couple calls and three good ones started are way!!

I couldn't get my son to bring his bow because he wanted to film the hunt for dad. Maybe tomorrow we can get him a bird  :D

They covered the ground between us quickly and was at 15 yds in no time. It didn't matter to me which ever one gave me the first best shot I was taking it. He flew strait up and came back down at 25 yds a fell over right there. You can barely see him in this pick to the left of the decoys.

A Jake that was across the field saw my bird fluttering on the ground a came running to see what was going on. I almost got a shot at him to but he finely spooked at 20 yds and ran off putting.

I went out and got my bird knowing more could show up and it wasn't long and they did across the field. 7 more gobblers but they had hens over there and showed no interest. This is the first bird I have ever shot with a snuffer and man what a big ol hole!!

It sure was a nice walk out!!

Thanks for following along and good luck to everybody this year.
