Geauge Turkey shoot turned TG gathering
« on: April 10, 2011, 09:25:00 PM »
Went to the annual Geauga Bowmen Turkey Shoot on Saturday. Seems more and more Trad Gangers there every year.

Bowmofo and his crew do a heck of a job putting on this shoot. It was a little wet but didn't seem to dampen anyone's spirits any.

I wish I'd get better at taken pictures of folks. I did get a few highlights.

John was at his first shoot and fit right in.

This young man was impressive for his first week of shooting. My son, Adam's, friend, Ethan.

Again.

Adam can shoot a little too.

Some guys tried to take advantage of the youngsters' strength.

Then a "REAL" 4 wheeler had to come to the rescue.

There were a couple other unfortunate individuals that got sucked into the 4runner's trap and had to be rescued. Only got pics of this one other 4wheeler wannabe.

A few other photos.

Here's "Mug".

Mark, (center) won the Longbow division 1st place.
Ethan won 1st for the kids division and Adam came in second.

I hope others took some pics and will post them here.

First off let me start by saying a BIG thank you to Bowmofo and everybody else who put this shoot together! this was my first shoot in over 20 years. I went up on Saturday with Longsticks (thanks for the ride Denny!)and I met a lot of fellow gang'rs.Some I had met on line and others for the first time.Everybody was great and I made some new friends.

I want to say a special thank you to Mark C.I was talking to him on Saturday about getting the kids new bows this year and when i brought the family up on Sunday he gave Alyssa a new bow. She has outgrown her old one and he took us over to the range and let her shoot a few and and he asked her which one she liked better and she told him he said Happy Birthday. Her's is in January. That's the type of folks who are among us on this site.

Now to the shoot.I had such a good time on Saturday that I brought the family up on Sunday.Everybody had such a great time that they didn't want to leave.

Here's a pic of Drummer's daughter taking aim at one of the many bird's that were on the property

Here's one of Robert doing his thing. The boy has his own style but he sure gets the job done!

Alyssaa was getting frustrated at first but she stuck it out and was getting better with every shot.

Steph was on her game most of the day.She hasn't had time to shoot as much as she'd like but that's about to change

Momma was the only one in our group to hit the flying turkey.best shot of the day. kill shot too!If you look close you can see the ring on the target.

Last and least was me.(momma insisted)Got to warm for wool!

If you ever want to go to a great shoot with great people then you gotta go to this shoot. You wont be disappointed!

P.S.That's me in the black trail blazer getting pulled out. Thanks for posting that Kenny!Lol!!
Keeping the Faith!

It was definitely a good time. I didn't even think to bring the camera.   :banghead:

The campfire Saturday evening wans't bad either!

  :campfire:

The wild leeks they have on club grounds were just coming up, but still had a good flavor to em.

Great shoot as always Mike.

Thanks,

This was my first shoot.  Had a blast!  Thanks to all the folks who make this happen.

I brought 2 of our children who can't wait for the Safari shoot now.

We were fortunate enough to shoot a round with 4runr and the boys.

I would tease Kenny about his arrow's placement in relation to Ethan's in a few of the pictures above, but then pics would come out of my shot placement!

All in all it was a terrific day.  The only regrets I have are not spending more time there and not introducing myself around more.

Magnus I was just curious if that was a Black Mountain bow you are shooting in the pic...and if it is what your thoughts on it are?  You can PM if you wouldn't mind...

Thanks
