Is there any thing you would change about my setup??

1966 Bear Kodiak Magnum
52 inch model
40# at 25"
Arrows:
27 inch Beman MFX Classic
600 spine
8 grains per inch
75 grain solid brass insert
125 grain point
5 inch shield cut feathers
Total arrow weight if I've figured right 453 grains
According to Stu Miller's calculator:
Arrow input 45.3
Bow output 46.3
arrow FPS 168
KE 28.4.
I haven't chonographed it yet nor have I weighed my arrows. Also not 100 percent sure I used the calculator exactly right but I know I'm close.
Arrow flight is VERY good, I put a 125 grain 3 blade muzzy on one arrow and it grouped repeatedly with my field points.
As far as hunting broadheads go I was planning on a 125 grain solid 2 blade cut to tip model like a Magnus.
My question after all these details is before I get to locked in on this combination is there anything else you experts think I should try for comparison?
Thanks,
Chris

I'm looking for ideas of other options to try...not approval. Feel free to give suggestions if you have any.

As xia said if your arrows fly good and bow is quiet all you need is a sharp broadhead. The rest is up to you.

Sounds like agreat setup.and the Kodiak Mag is astested, tried, and true as you can get.Too short for me ,but sure are alott nicer out of a tree or blind than my herd of 62"bows and a joy to pack Im sure.Your arrow selection sounds good, alil light for some of our tastes, however from that bow sounds like a winner. If it aint broke, let it be.Good Luck!

My suggestion would be to try a 200 grain point.
You have an 1 1/2" of arrow to play with, if in fact, you draw 25". You will have a more formidable arrow. That should put you at 25+% EFOC and that is the point where I have been able easily discern noticeable gains in penetration. Your arrow should weigh ~503 grains w/o wraps.

I think your set up is just fine. It sounds like your happy with your setup already, so why would you want to change things? Your the one that is shooting it, and need to be happy.

I would suggest a 4" feather over the 5" feather for that setup and give a thought to the woodsman broadhead.

I agree with most of these guys. If you are getting good, consistent flight, I wouldn't change anything. Maybe try 200grn points to see if it gets even better, but if it doesn't, I would keep it the way you have it now. My two cents.

That's nearly me exact set up. My 52" recurve is 40# at 28 though. I draw about 29. My arrows are cut longer, but same heads, feathers, inserts, etc. I get great flight.
