Looks like we have a handle on this guy.
Beware, scammers will opt out of one issue, re-register and try it again.
Thanks mods, your job is not enviable.

superkodiak,

Thanks for the response. Now that makes sense.

I thought possibly it was another example of one of this guy's deceitful games.

For example this guy Ollis still has an AD on the LW for a set of Day One ASAT wool bibs for $150. Do not know if it is for the same pair that the other buyer sent him $200 for- but it would not surprise me.

Probably can't keep his Ad's straight, just like his buyers. Like the example of of him quoting coaster500 2 different bottom line price points on a bow in 2 separate messages.

I think his actions rhyme with pity - but that's about as close to pity as I can get!

Glad to hear it, Steve.

The US Postal Service site says my package should have shown up yesterday, but it's still not here.  Their tracking system leaves a LOT to be desired.  Last data is when it was mailed in Indiana.  Oh well, no news is... NO NEWS!

Hoping for tomorrow, and that, one at a time, everyone gets squared away.

I don't think we would see this kind of response from Ollis without the pressure and tireless tracking by our mods and members. Good thing for scammers to know, don't mess with the Tradgang!

So, just for the sake of clarity, has anyone actually been scammed, or is the guy just unreliable?

No kidding. I have followed this saga and wonder the same thing. One thing is for sure, a lot of remarks have been directed his way for things that I myself am guilty of. Like taking a longer time shipping items, or forgetting to mention a detail until after the deal was in progress. And I have had checks arrive 2 weeks later than promised for stuff, etc. So I am not he only member who has had life get in the way of prompt service.
Is he dishonest or just a dip----?
I appreciate the diligence of the mods,  the rest not so much.

Ask the guy that got the 3x that he didn't order....that 'tag' I told you about.

See if he got that taken care of or not....that will tell you.

From what he wrote, he had NO INTENTION of making it right.  Is that a scam?

There have been a host of folks contact us about being scammed....I don't know if they all have been taken care of or not....maybe they will post here also.

Again...a rash of listings.....and a rash of hollering.

Being that he sold the same item to multiple individuals on multiple websites I'd say people have been scammed.  The fact that he was caught and to excape prosecution decided to borrow money and pay people back is closing the barn door after the cows are gone.  IMHO

The thanks belongs to the members here that kept pushing after this guy and not backing off. If we keep on a scammer collectively, that is what will bring results.

it's guys like this character ollis that get me to thinking about imposing the 100 count rule to all the classifieds forums, not just the trad bow classifieds.

The last few comments just goes to show the kind of people here at Tradgang. We want to trust and see the best in others and even after all that has been done to some of our members try to make excuses hoping that it was all a mistake. Unfortunatly that is not the world we live in and scammers love a group of people that want to trust (which is why they prey so much on them especially why we here they target seniors also) Remember though that while we are to be innocent as Doves the first part of the quote is to be cautious as serpents. So knowing we are a target we need a balance between knowing who we are dealing with and at the same time keeping the trusting nature that has developed here. This guy is a scammer who saw trusting sheep but didn't realize the were armed with bows:) Thanks Moderators. Merle
