Well after chasing Fallow deer for a few years now and not being successful I finally got one on the ground.
After trying to get the drop on this fella over the previous two days I worked out his routine and got into position above his game trail and waited.
As he came along he stopped at 4 yards form me, a bit closer than I had expected. He was standing behind a forked tree and only his head, neck and rear were in my shooting lane.
As he raised his head and scented the wind I knew it was all over so I took the shot into the base of his neck cutting a major artery as the red claret gushed he took off up the hill whacking his antlers on a large tree before stopping turning and doing a dead run straight into the ground as he tried to run down the mountain.

What was your Bow and arrow set up?
Hunting was hazardous, but at least it guaranteed the freedom of the individual.

There is no doubt that the onset of farming saw the end of leasure for the majority of people, who were destined to toil in the fields.

Sorry mate, just changed the picture to include one with the bow, Blackwidow PSR V 58#28"

Good job! Fallow bucks are way cool. :)

Thank you all, it's been a good few months hunting for me starting in December with a nice Sambar stag then I went to the US and got my first Turkey and Javelina and now a Fallow.
Turkey is one animal I had always wanted to hunt so I consider myself fortunate to have secured one.
