What kind of rest to my ILF
« on: April 23, 2011, 06:38:00 PM »
Hi !
Im using the Super T300 rest, but i'm using heavy arrows around 700 grains and the rest gets a good beating and the steel bends, after several shots.

What kind of rest do you recommend for hunting?
I would prefer to still use an elevated rest with a plunger!

Go to Lancaster Archery's website. Very informative staff, they can set you up very well. Tell them your setup, arrow weight/diameter, etc.
If I'm hunting with my ILF setup I like my Spigarelli mag rest. But its gotta be 10 years old by now.

I would try a New Archery Products CenterRest (not the flipper).  Cheap, no moving parts, nearly indestructable, easy to replace the head without affecting tuning, and it'll shoot lights out all day long.

I'm also shooting the T300 w/ the shorty plunger on my Titan, no problems yet, although the rest does seem a little flimsy and was considering changing to either the aae/cavalier champion 11 and keeping the plunger or going to one of the n.a.p. centerrest or centerrest flipper models.
Can anyone provide any insight to these rests and the pros/cons between the n.a.p. models?

I shot compounds with the NAP models for years.  The rests were definitely not a limiting factor for me.  They would put broadheads in a 3" spot all day long at 20-30 yards when I was holding and aiming well.  The reasons I recommend the standard CenterRest is durability and cost.  With the CenterRest and CenterRest Flipper, you can afford to carry a spare and you can install your spare without any detectable effect on tuning or point-of-impact... even if you shoot a compound with sights.
