Nice work David. Wish I could hunt, but no time while building an ark.

Well we finally caught a break in the weather here.  Only my second time out since my Dad has been having some heart health issues.  Between the weather, work, and the hospital, it was nice to get out this morning.  Birds were gobbling all around me at a quarter till six.  I only called a few times with some very soft tree yelps.  Only a short while later after a half an hour of five or six birds gobbling did I hear the sound of some drumming from behind me.  I then heard the soft clucks of a hen leading two toms right to me one in full strut.  I was hunting out of blind and had a feeder and a small jake sitting over a hen.   Well the gobbler headed right for him and kicked the crap out of him.  So I gave some payback for beating up my decoy.  Looks like I'll be eating turkey tonite.  Good luck guys, be safe and have fun.

For me this is a booner of a turkey, 11 1/4" beard, 1 1/4 spurs, and he weighed 23 lbs.  Thanks guys for the comments, hopefully I can make it out after the dirtybirds some more before season is up.

Curt, I was useing a wensel woodsman on Douglas fir shafts fletched with feathers from my brothers fall turkey.  Tall Tines 60"57#@28.  I hit the bird directly on the wing butt broadside.  He only went about five yards and the shot was about eight.

Great bird...you make it sound so easy  :D

Need to get back out myself....Love watching and hearing all the sounds they make.
