Old Friends Revisited
« on: April 27, 2011, 09:06:00 PM »
A (young) old Friend of mine (and some of you will remember him too) contacted me again recently on My FaceBook. That was a surprise, though he does contact me every other year or so - but there is more to tell. His name is Micah Adams and "we" mostly knew him as "bunnyhunter" here. Like me, his finances always seemed to be one of his shortages but he has a heart that has no shortcomings what so ever. He used to pitch in with my "cheerleading", in grand shape during St. Jude Auctions, and any other fund raising efforts that involved children or good deeds - bless his heart. You may recall this fact about him in particular, as I do.

After this most recent contact had aged, just a month or so, Micah asked for my snail-mail, as he wanted to send me something that he knew I would enjoy.

Two days ago I received a package from him, and opened it to expose a beautiful, functional, obviously hand-made back quiver. After admiring it by sight and feel, something clicked with me. I sent Micah a message of appreciation and pleasure, also asking if he had made it himself, or if it was perhaps one of "Barb"s.

My memory isn't always as sharp as it used to be but this time it was spot on. I seemed to recall that our late, dear friend Barb (Dumas), known to some, affectionately as "Quiver Gal", had made and sent a (surprise) quiver to "bunnyhunter", as she so dearly loved to do for her friends.

As I told Micah, I was very moved that he had chosen to send the quiver to me, and I was sure that Barb would be too.
Bless them both, bless us all.

That's a great quiver Bernie. Gifts like that are the best, as they touch the heart. Nice bow there too. Thanks for sharing with us.

Thanks, guys.
I heard that, Crooked Stic - LOL.

BTW - The bow is my primitive Osage Dano Bow, "Sneaky Snake", made and presented to me by Dano Gren, as he was a special close friend of Barb's also (along with me and Killie - and many others), I felt he would enjoy being along on the "revisit".

For those who don't know Barb - you can read about Barb in a thread that I initiated after her passing, now in the Archives, called "Sad News".

What a beautiful way to keep her spirit alive on this side of the veil. Her kindnesses will never die, they reverberate in outward-moving ripples.

And the song, from beginning to end, I found again in the heart of a friend.

Thanks, Longstykes, Lee, and Larry. The color of the lighter leather and fringe is actually a nice light grey (not white) that is sort of pebbled and may have come from a pair of chaps that I sent to Barb, for the leather in them.
