stealth side quiver home brew
« on: May 04, 2011, 08:18:00 PM »
i played a few hours hooky from work today after finding some left over pieces of heavy leather.
i winged this side quiver without any preconceived plans, just using the piece of 10oz latigo, 9" x 23", and another scrap piece about 6" x 10".  i used twisted quadrupled b50 string fiber for all stitching through pre-punched holes that i also sorta just punched as i went along.  it actually works quite well, but need to take it afield for a real shakedown as to hunting functionality.  the added leather pieces up front and rear were stitched on to add necessary diameter and strap control.

Excellent! I like the look of the stitching. I switched to a stalker type quiver last year and love it! Can't see going back< Thanks for sharing. .

That looks well cool mate ! good job !
I use them more and more as hunting quivers as they let me carry a back pack etc and I like being able to draw my arrows with little movement .
I, too tried to build my own . Lets just say that my efforts , unlike yours,  were less than successful ... function and form both missed the boat ! ended up making some nice tabs ....

For sizing , did you just wrap iy round a pvc pipe kinda thing ?

Nice looking quiver!  I also really like the stitching.  If you're happy with your "shakedown"  maybe a "build-along" would be in order.

Very crafty Rob, nice job!

Good Job Rob, would have taken me at least 2 days to plan her out. Let alone put her together. Thanks for the pics, pretty nice looking quiver.
