My kids and Turkey Hunting w/pics
« on: May 06, 2011, 09:36:00 PM »
Well I took my 2 older kiddos out to the blind on 2 different days to see if we could call in a long beard. No luck putting a bird in the freezer but we saw birds and had a great time. The first day I took Isabel. We spotted a hen in the field on the way to the blind. We snuck up from behind the blind. Then we started calling. The hen walked by at 15yrds and just fed infront of us for half hr. No long beard in site that day.

The next day I took Isaac out. As soon as we got in the blind and called. A tom and a hen popped over the hill but would never close the distance. So me and Isaac got out of the blind a little later. We cut through the woods to try and cut them off. Well we never saw the birds again but as we walked into another small field a doe came out on the other side and never saw us. She ran towards us with tail down just a little trot. She came 15 yrds from us and just went in the woods. We were about 20yrds into a field. We just froze in place and she never saw us. My son is 4 and he did so good at being still. He asked me later why didn't you shoot that doe dad. I told him in the fall. She would have been mine. LOL Maybe

Good times with the kiddos. Sorry I forgot to take any pics with the bow. I was using my Bear Blackpanther.

Not disregarding your bow but those pics are way cooler!  If your kids are like mine they love the face paint best. Awesome deal!

Special times!

My kids are too big to tucker out anymore, but I remember many rides home when they would be out cold.

Great job dad!

Too Cool great to see kids in the outdoors instead of playing inside on their gameboys.

I sure enjoy seeing pictures of kids out hunting. My most cherished moments are when I am out with my kids stumping, fishing etc. Thanks for sharing.
