Easton tracer nocks shatter!!!
« on: May 09, 2011, 09:08:00 PM »
I bought a pack of easton tracers last fall, killed a deer with them, worked great.  now, a week before our pig hunt, one ceases to turn off and the others'battery and magnet shattered on impact with a plastic leg (damn those delta targets!)  leaving me with no tracer nocks and 20$short. anyone looking for lumenocks might consider getting the burt coyote lumenocks.
anyone else have the ssame thing happen?

Never shattered one but the battery can be a pain.

I have spotty results with the luminocks, the don't always light.

Been using firenocks and have been very pleased.

No they are inertia driven. The demo that the maker showed me at a trade show he was beating and banging them around and they took a beating and kept working flawlessly. They are a bit pricy though.

I have had very bad results with the easton tracer nocks. i shot at two deer and both arrows lighted up on release and both nocks snapped off when the arrow hit the ground. They didnt hit anything hard either just some dirt and leaves. I bought two pack last year and I had problems with two of the other ones they would turn on and off when they werent suppost too.  my friends like the burntcoyote nocks I have yet got to shoot at a deer with mine, but they work on my bag target.

I talked to a guy that is really 'in the know' of this type of nock....he's tried them all, tested them all...and he says they are ALL a pain in the A$$.

So,.....I'm not much help.  I mean this guy could have sold me a dozen....but he talked me out of it.

I think they could be very beneficial in some instances that's for sure.  From what he told me, I'm afraid to fool with any of them.

We sold Firenocks a couple of years ago and none would work out of the Package. I understand that the problem with them is fixed, but we as a business, are not going there again. We sell Tracer's and Lumenocks now and both are OK BUT as Terry said
All of them can be a pain in the butt!!!!!
I'm not saying anyone is doing this but they not not made to Target shoot with. A person needs to buy them, put on your arrows and make sure they fly right and then put them aside or In the Quiver.
I have sold a BUNCH of the Tracers and Lumenocks over the past few years so that is what I base this on.....They are great for what they are designed for but just not that tough.
If I were buying personally, with-out question, would buy the Easton Tracers.....
Just my opinion and Good Luck with them and Good Luck on the Hog Hunt Luke.

I had a Lumenok on a target arrow that decided to give up the ghost upon release. That really got my attention. I’m done with lighted nocks.

Listen to DW shoot them a time or two and make sure they fly and have proper nock fit. Then put them in your quiver until it's time to shoot at a critter.they are an awsome tool if used as such IMHO.

I hope you get it all squared away before your hunt.Good luck.

I tried several different ones and found them all to be a pain. The tracers performed the best for me. I've heard good things about the Nocturnals but have not tried them. I would never waste another penny on a Lumenock though. I tried several of them and when they did work, it was only abouthalf the time. IMHO they just cost too much and are too unpredictable to be worth the hassle.
