New to me Thunderstick Mag
« on: May 13, 2011, 09:21:00 PM »
I'm sure there are a few of you that have seen this bow before.  I think it's been owned by about three or four different TGers.  But all the same, it's new to me, and has become one of my favorite bows.  It's a Thunderstick Mag, 58", 55@28.  It pulls a little lighter than that, but still shoots great.  I have it tuned with a 29.5" GT 3555, with 225grn up front, footed with 1.5" alum. shaft.  Bare shafts and arrows are grouping together.  This is also the first time I've tried dental floss as a nock and it's working much better than the serving I've used in the past.  It doesn't slip up and down at all.  Here are some pics of the bow.

(6/7/11)Decided to put some skins on it.

Now to find a MOAB, and I think I'll be set for awhile.

Glad you're liking it, Matt.  It does have some mojo from last deer season.  I'm trying to decide on arrow selection for the Bushmaster right now.

Thanks guys.  I'm thinking it will be a great blind bow with the short length and dark limbs.  What kind of mojo Mark?  I'd be interested to know what has been hunted with this bow.

Matt, I killed a very nice mature doe last season with it, first season I owned it.  Hopefully it will do well for you.

Looks exactly like one I traded away. It shot really nice but the handle was just a little small for me.

2117 for GT 3555 trads & 2216 for GT 5575 trads.  There's a post on here somewhere with all the sizes and what carbons they work on.  If I can find it, I'll post a link to it here.
