I got an invite from a friend to chase some pigs today. He called and said the hogs are hammering his clover and wheat fields. I accepted his offer. I haven't hunted in a couple of months and  I got out some new 190 grain terminator broadheads. I shot them to make sure they were on. This was also a chance to try out my new gator quiver. Man, I was pumped!

Here's a couple of pics till I get home tomorrow night!

He could have at least told us what time he gets off work.   :dunno:

Sounds like it'll be a good story. I'll be back!

Not much penetration? Too use to shooting those foam arrows    It would really be cool if he shot one with that C.S. Memorial arrow! Zipper ProStaff to the rescue!

Mike, I had planned on using that arrow. I had been shooting it some and it hits in the same spot as my other arrows. It has a Tippit" forged single bevel on the business end. I ran out of time and had to leave before I could get it sharp so I did not use it.

Unfortunatly for the hog, I only had 1 foam arrow and I thought you would be more deserving than me besides I wouldn't want you to get hert!

The plan was to get up in one of the deer stands overlooking the wheat and clover fields. When the pigs come out we would get down wind stalk up to around 15 yards and shoot one, on top of that my friend agreed to video for me!

For this to happen for me, would mean that all the planets and stars will have to line up!

The first thing to happen right was the day before it rained about an inch so nothing was cracking and breaking during the stalk! The next day the temperature was about 10 degrees cooler and we had a steady 10 mph breeze.

I arrived at my buddys place, the fields looked like they had been mowed! He said he had a field in the back that the pigs were just getting into. We headed out to get in the stand about 6:15. He pointed out where he thought the pigs would come out and we talked about the route we were going to take to get to them.

We talked for about 30 minutes and he says there they are! They were about 150 yards out going right into the wheat and clover field. It was hard to tell how many came out. A big sow 250#, 5 or 6 100#, and a couple of 50#. I asked him which one he wanted me to shoot. He said which ever one gets close (This is simple and excellent advise BTW).

We climbed out of the stand, I handed him my camera, showed him the zoom and the record button and off we went.

Sorry guys, gotta go eat. I'll be back in a few minutes.

The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.
