What's the difference?

The PMA has a longer riser.

The PMA has a 2" longer riser, makes for a larger sight window no biggie there the sight window on the PSA is long enough for anybody. The PMA is slightly heaver and with the longest limbs on both the PMA will be 2" longer.

The PMA will go up to a 64" bow and handle a 34" draw the PSA will go to a 62" bow and handle a 33" draw

I like the PSA it gives me a 62" bow with the same working limb as a 64" PMA and even with my 31" draw you cant tell the deference

One of these days i waht to try a 60" PCH, it should have the same working limb as a 64"PMA or a 62" PSA

If you go to BW website and click on each bow you can read all about the riser lenghts on these bows.

Larges riser is PMA 5 inch site window
Middle riser is PSA 4 inch site window
shortest Riser is PCH 3 inch site window

for takedown recurves

Thanks guys. I checked the site just after posting and was wondering if what I was seeing in the pics was actually what I was seeing... that the risers were different lengths. I didn't actually see the descriptions when I looked tho.

I see now that I just didn't click down enough.

They have a try before you buy. I have owned
pch and ptf,pma,psa. for me the best is a psa
60"

Definitely do the try before you buy! I tried the PCH first then a PSA. I went with the PSAX in Kingwood! Should be shipped this week!!!

Likewise, I started with the MA's and went with no problem(or notice) to the SA's and later the PSA.

Forgive my newbness, but is there an advantage to a longer riser or shorter riser or is it a matter of preference? Does it merely affect the total length of the bow to allow for draw length without finger pinch and such or is there a performance difference?

Soooooo much to learn. Thank God for TG!

The bigger the riser usually means more weight and more stability in your bow hand. The pma is a real pile driver. The shorter the riser your limbs will be longer meaning you have more working limb to zip your arrows ( pch). I own a psa in my opinion its the best of both worlds

The shorter the limbs the more finger pinch you have. On bw website it has limb length recomendations for your draw length

There will be is a best choice.

Only you will know which one.

There are many widows arround to track one down or just consider the BW try before you buy program.

I just got my first, new to me MAII. 58" 50 @28". It is impressive to shoot!

The shorter the BOW the more the finger pinch, the length of the limbs alone has no effect. The main advantage of the MA is the longer sight window, I was concerned about switching to the shorter window of the SA, but I never noticed it. The longer the BOW the easier and more pleasant it will be to shoot accurately, BUT the less convenient it will be to use in the woods. If you notice target bows are very long. There are optimal bow lengths for your draw length in each style of bow and BW lists their recommendations.

I have an MA pre FF 45#@28 62". It is the sweetest recurve I have ever shot. Its quiet and FF or not is quick. Killed my first deer of the season with it last year. 12-14 yd shot, arrow went through both sides.

I have got a couple PCH bows. Both are the same specs. 53#'s@29", and 58". This gives me the 58" length I am looking with a limb length equal to a PSA 60".

The first PCH is for my primary hunting bow, and the second is a backup for just in case.

I like the PMA for targets, the PSA for averall comfort, and the PCH for hunting.

Hard to wrong with either takedown model.
