Latest boo backed osage
« on: June 24, 2007, 04:51:00 PM »
Went for a different look on this one. I did not want much contrast in the wood but still wanted it to look good. I used Bacote an Osage for the handle and power lam. I stained the whole bow then with a tan dye so everything would blend in. The bow is 64" 49# at 28".

OH YEAH!!! Looks Great Buck!! Question: Did you Buy Your Boo Back as a Pre- Worked Over Boo Strip? Or get it that Smooth by Yourself?

Great looking bow!! I have to admit that I am one that doesn't usually care that much for osage(I hope that's not considered heresy) but this bow is one of the best looking osage bows I've seen. It may have something to with the bocote, which is one of my favorite bow woods. The riser looks great and the handle/grip looks very comfortable.  Looks like it would fit nicely into my left hand.LOL

It doesn't matter how or what you shoot, as long as you hit your target.
