Good looking bow.  I picked my new Big River up from John last Monday.  Fantastic, AND it only took two weeks from order to pick-up.

Thanks for all the nice comments!

Charlie, you've got 1st rights of refusal if she ever goes.

Brant, you know how to exploit a man's weakness! Very tempting, but I'm holding out for the fig newtons & a six pack of yoo-hoos - in the big bottles!

Most people dont believe me when I tell them the typical turn around time. Problem is, it doesn't allow me to save the remainder of the balance lol.

Charlie,

I know what you mean.  I called John on May 2nd and he wanted to know when I needed it.  I told him I'd really like it by Compton, June 18th, and he said.  "Oh, I don't know, I'll try".  10 days later he called and said - "It's done!"  Fortunately I had the money set aside before I called him hahaha.  In my case, he didn't have to order any riser or limb wood as he had it already in stock or it would have taken longer.

Can't beat service like that.

I've been impressed with every one of his bows I've come across. Every time I think of his bows I search for them on-line hoping that he will have a website. Anybody know if he has a website by chance?

TOMMY,NOPE no website, John is old school, just a phone number to call him. Jedi, SWEET bow, John is almost done with my 2pcs take down!! will post when i get it. I have shot alot of long bows this last year and not many can compare to a Big River, John is truly a master bowyer, and his recurves he makes are just as sweet. For anyone that has never shot a Big River, you don't know what your missing.

Website? He first needs a computer lol! He has a hard time figuring out how to get his cell phone messages! One thing the geezer does is make one hellava bow. I should know, I have owned 20 or so. He is also good at hollerin` at me, lol.

I would love to run a few hundred arrows thru her.

Perhaps after more time you two may find yourselves on the same page.
