bow quiver noise
«
on:

I have the 6 arrow thunderhorn boa bow quiver. It seems to make my one piece RD longbow louder. Has anyone had the same experience with this quiver? I am thinking about getting a Big Jims bow quiver and hoping it will be quieter since I really like bow quivers. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I suggest the Kanati strap-on. Quiet and sturdy. My arrows do not move around at all either.

Thanks, I have looked at the Kanati's and they look real nice, and many positive reviews.

I normally have just the opposite happen...helps quiet the bow and vibrations. I would look the quiver over really close, make sure you have it mounted tight and make sure you have it mounted well into the fades, not on any working part of the limbs, also check to make sure your arrows are secure in the quiver.

there are lotsa good bow quivers to choose. how securely, and where you attach one to yer bow is critical. ditto for NOT allowing the shafts/feathers to touch anything that'll create sound. i use ultra-lite efa 4 & 5 arrow bow quivers exclusively and they make no noise as long as i stick 'em on the right spots real tight.

Dittos Rob, "there are lotsa good bow quivers to choose." A good quiver mounted securely should quieten the bow. At EFA we have had lots of people come back with comments on how our quivers have quietened their bows. I have heard similar comments made by some who were using other quivers. I don't think that any quiver manufacturer has a lock on the market and we are lucky to have so much to choose from.
One instance that I particularly remember was a shop owner several years ago who ordered quivers to sell in his shop. When they arrived, he put one on his Black Widow that he said had always been noisy. He called a week or so later to tell me how well this quiver was performing for him and to order more of them.

I have had good luck with the Selway slide-on but it is a pain to unstring your bow to remove the quiver. Mine actually seems to quiet my bow down but you have to make sure you keep the quiver down on the limb. Sometimes it walks up as you shoot.

Thanks guys. I am starting to look at the possibility that my bow is vibrating a little, and when the quiver is on it magnifies for some reason -- even though normally it is the opposite. I may have to do some more fine tuning of my bow.

Check to see if the feathers are touching each other. That can also cause noise.

Okay about the feathers. I also now think it may be because my foam is worn out. When I first got the quiver, I cut some of it out because I did not like a "full quiver" of foam. That may have been a mistake; also, the foam is just plain worn and the arrow tips may be touching the inside of the plastic hood. I will be ordering a replacement foam piece. Thanks for all the help guys.

I've got a Big Jim Bow quiver on my widow, very solid attachment and very quite. No rattle whatsoever.

I noted some increased noise with my Thunderhorn quiver recently. I found that the straps had stretched a little, and I tightened them. Check yours and see if they aren't a little stretched out.

Thanks Jake. Looks like the straps are fine. I have had them off and on quite a bit so I have been keeping them tight.
