repairing bow grip
« on: May 24, 2011, 11:58:00 PM »
the leather grip on my osage selfbow has loosened up a bit and now slides around when I shoot.  The rest is a small piece of leather under tucked under the grip so when the grip moves so does my rest leading to inconsistency.

any suggestions for the type of adhesive to use for repair.  Also, will the repair be as simple as it seems - pulling of the old grip, reapplying adhesive and replace or is there a better way.

Thanks.

Ted

Barge cement is commonly suggested here for gluing leather to wood. (With the intention of being about to remove or replace down the road.)

Usually see it mentioned for leather rugs/rests...but don't know why a grip would be any different.

Yep, barge will do it.
