New guy on the block
« on: May 25, 2011, 12:09:00 PM »
I just wanted to say hi to all you guys and gals on trad gang.  I have been interested in making my first and only bow on my own. I was looking around the site and found the "so you want to build a bow" buildalong and now I'm all reved up and about to head out to the home depot and get me some oak.  wish me luck, my wife thinks I'm crazy for wanting to build a bow since we live in a city.

Welcome home. I am nowhere near far enough along to build a bow,  but I love to see people's first time efforts at it and arrow making too, for that matter.

There is an archery club near you, Northern Virginia Archers, and the fees are cheap. Now you have a place to shoot! You an also bring your stave out there and sand and tiller and try out all in one place.

It is located near Clifton, VA, at the entrance to Fountainhead Park.

Welcome!!Have fun on your bow it is a blast.I worn you though archery is very addictive and will soon consume a lot of your thoughts.
Now then, get your equipment—your quiver and bow—and go out to the open country to hunt some wild game for me.

I lived in DC years ago. Nice town considering it size.

Welcome to the tradgang family!

If you're just getting started in traditional archery you should shoot over the St Judes' Auction site.

There's a bunch of stuff there you can use and it'll be helping the children.

God bless,Mudd
