TRADGANG FUN SHOOT
« on: May 25, 2011, 04:08:00 PM »
Hey TRADGANG!     :wavey:    The idea was brought up earlier this week about a fun archery competition for any tradgang member. So here we go!

This is 100% HONOR SYSTEM! There will be no prizes, just a good old fashion fun shoot. Doesn't cost anything to enter you just have to let me know so I can keep a head count.

The way we're going to start this out is I pick the rules for the first week. After that the winner of the previous contest will pick the rules for the next contest and so on. After you shoot, you must take a picture and post it, along with your score, I will start the thread after every shoot. To start this off I want to have a "contest" every two weeks. I will go through and find the highest score and let that person know so they can come up with the rules. If at some point we get a lot of people (which I hope we will) I might have to pick at random who chooses the rules for the next week. I have a full time job so I couldn't keep up if a lot of people join.  We are going to do this as cheap as possible.

And what I mean by "Rules" is picking yardage, shooting positions, and if we get any warm up shots.

Things you need:
9 inch Paper Plates
A quarter
A role of duck tape
A Sharpie of any color

Get a paper plate and trace the quarter in the center, then trace the MIDDLE of the role of duck tape, and then draw a line where the plate starts to angle up. (I will post a pick tonight)

Scoring systems:
Middle- 10 points
Duck tape ring- 8 points
Outer ring- 6 points
Outer edge up the plate- 4 points
You must cut the paper plate for it to count, touching but no cut= no score for that arrow.

I want to keep this "stick bow close" so nothing over the 15-20 yards please. Maybe later we can extend it out, but for now lets keep it close.

If anybody has ANY suggestions PM me and we'll talk them over. This is 100% for FUN! So post here if you want in.

I picked up 45 9 inch plates at Dollar General for $1. On the outer ring I just hand trace a line what is already on the plate. Thanks for wanting to shoot guys!     :archer:

Sounds like fun. I will do it too.

I would imagine that once I do Chezney will want too also. Do you have a shooting distance for a 8 year old?

Sounds like fun. I can get 15 yds in the basement. If we go for 6 arrows might be kind of packed into the quarter ring. Just kiddin, I'll be happy to get 6 on the plate.

Thanks Zradix. The winner of the previous "contest" will choose how many arrows. I would say at most lets keep it to 5 arrows. I've heard of a 1 shot challenge, where you have no warm up, just your 1st shot of the day. I'll post the first set of rules Sunday.
