I don't know much of nuthin', but it sounds like me and Doc Nock should share a camp fire sometime...shoot, I reckon we ought to invite Killie also, sounds like she could use some fine companionship such as us  :wavey:    :wavey:

I didn't think so, but for the others...and if i ever make it back to NY and it might be in my future plans, where is Martville located in relations to Horseheads?  Would love to shake your hand.

James you be Baaddd!

I was just in Horseheads/Corning area back the second week of May, flew into Syracuse.  Absolutely beautiful country!  I, like many others get this picture painted in my head that NY is mostly city type of terrain, but it's far from it really pretty country.

Tony, you have outdone yourself twice on my behalf, I believe I owe YOU a bottle and another campfire. I am all cheered up now, or maybe just punchdrunk, as I only got two hours of sleep last night. (notice that I posted on that good-guy auction site at 1:30 this morning. Then I read the threads a little to wind down, finally retiring at 2:30.

Nothing cheers me up more than time spent in the woods with good friends and fine weapons, and here they all are, right here on TradGang!

Here are three favorites, all in a bunch.
The Magic Bow, my curly koa bow Ember, and a bow made from the same block of koa for Chris Surtees. Chris allowed me to buy the bow from him in installments, always prodding me to send an address, which I would not do until he got the final payment. The bow brought a lot of money in for the St Jude auction last year, as I expect The Magic Bow will this year.

I currently own two centaurs, and used to own another, all-glass Centaur (#15 on Jim's site). The Magic Bow has a certain something that no other Centaur that I have shot seemed to possess. A quintessence, mercurial and enigmatic infuses the limbs and riser. Uh, that translates to PFM, in engineerspeak.

Did I tell you about the time The Magic bow killed a bear at eighty yards? Out there, past the bucks...

I don't have a clue what that means, but a few more words like that and I may have to bid on it myself  :D

For many years, I was fortunate to share a fire, some grub, sippin sumpin and smoke with our own Dear Killy.

You won't find better camp people than she and Clark and Spirit!

I missed that this year at B'more, but maybe can make it up sometime somewhere else...

Much as I like to sock Larry in the arm, yeah, he's OK people. What a campfire that would be, those New Yakkers, and the Baltimore bunch.
Don't forget to pack the mini-grunt.   ;)

I do love that koa CS bow........who ended up with that bow anyway? (so that I may possibly send somewhat subtle hints in their direction that, should they ever decide to part ways with said work of art, and due to my overwhelming desire to have said work of art in my hand, I would very much appreciate if they would keep me in mind before they decide to put it up on the big auction!)

You would hafta put "that" bow up wouldnt ya Larry.I'm tempted to bid on myself even though I've switched to a lefty since hurting my rt shoulder.

This bow really is the "magic bow" and was the first Centaur I shot . . . made me go out and buy my own which was also rt handed so I guess I should keep my eye's open for a lefty.

Bid high this is "the one"
shoot straight and have FUN!!

Tony, there used to be a place onsite where you could go and see the St Jude forums from the past several years. I just tried to find it and...

I hate when they clean out the Reference Section!
I am pretty sure I mailed it to Californornia. LA type Californornia. I probably have the info somewhere, but I forget the Dewey Decimal number for it.

I'm going to let you all in on a little secret. When I bought the Magic Bow back from Killie, she told me if I ever sold it, she would do very  bad things to me, and I promised her I wouldn't ever sell it.  When I considered putting it up on the St Judes auction, I pm'd Killie asking her blessings in doing so.( being as how I wasn't selling it, but it was going to leave my possesion)

Well, I tell ya, she was totally speechless, and after she got over the shock that an old curmudgeon such as myself would do such a thing, why she just broke down in tears and gave me her blessing. That gal may have a hard exterior, but she's got the softest heart there ever was.

Yep, that's the story as I remember it.  :archer2:

Broke down in tears?
In an email?   :dunno:

Some folks stretch things a little.
