Can't shoot....very sad.
« on: May 31, 2011, 04:42:00 PM »
We are in the midst of closing our veterinary clinic, packing, and moving. It may be 2 or three weeks before I can fling any more arrows. I know it'll be ok...just feeling sorry for myself!  :D    :archer2:

Keep your mind on the task before you.

It will be over before you know it.

Best of luck

I know the feeling. I went on a work trip to Oklahoma last fall and it was a long 10 days. I did get a fix as I stopped at the Black Widow shop on the way back and shot some of those widders. That made it all worth it.
I feel for you brother! Hang tough.

The only thing worse would be to move during hunting season!

I tried to shoot tonight and decided that I can't shoot either!

Sorry to hear about the move. Hope it goes well.

Hey Randy,

We're moving to Edmond, OK...sometime in June. S'posed to close the house deal the 27th, but may have to go before then, you know, for that work biz. There's a pond on the backside of the little 4 acre place we're buying. Haven't seen any deer yet, but they've left tracks. I may have to invest in a camera!

We've had Lovington Veterinary Clinic for 15 years...and today was our last day.

We moved recently and I wasnt't able to shoot for about 4 months.  Everything went to hell with my shooting, it took some pretty intense practise sessions but things are coming back.

Good luck with the move.  At least it is just a short term thing. A friend I just got back into trad. ripped the ligaments in his left hand.  It will be months before he can shoot again.
The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.

Sympathize. I don't have to travel very often for my work - BUT - far too often the travel I DO have interferes with the best part of the hunting season.  Apparently there are not many bowhunters in my line of work.

That's what I'm worried about...but the intense practice will be fun later!

Good luck on the move!  I had 2 times in the last 8 or 9 months where I couldn't shoot for up to 30 days for medical reasons.  When I was able to shoot again I started with my 40lb recurve to work on form, form and more form.  My hunting weight bows are 54 and 55 lbs, but starting back lower was the way to go...still use the 40lber in the garage to work on form.....

Good idea, MJH. My lowest is 50#, but since they go up to 70#, I know where to start!

2 weeks ain't that bad.  I have outages and hay season every year.  Makes for about 6 or 8 weeks of no shooting.

Edmond is a nice place. It is close to co. if you want to go chase an elk.

I'm used to driving about 3 hours to chase elk in the Lincoln National Forest! But that won't stop me when it's time to go to CO!

We're excited about the change. I've enjoyed NM, but they've screwed up the hunting seasons so badly that I no longer care. Everything I've seen of OK, so far [other than the twisters] has been good.
